Once hit AMT, try to increase the mortgage interest and see if the number
will change or not.

不要说这些了，连dependent 的exemption都不take了。
Donation was the only thing I found which is not affected by the AMT.

我们说的不一样，我说的是business expense（你自己的business用你自己的房间做
home office），然后deduct rent。
你说的是作为一个employee，用自己家的房间做home office，那是employment
related expense，是itemized deduction
itemized deduction will be added back for AMT purpose。你的例子就这个意思。
